Claremore Recreation Center opened its doors for operation December 11, 1999. The center is owned by the City of Claremore and operated by the Parks and Recreation Department. The 80,000 square foot center cost approximately $7.1 million.

Funds for the construction were generated from a temporary one-penny sales tax. Operations and maintenance funds for the facility are generated by memberships, user groups, swim lessons, and activity fees.
